Honey Combs and Honey Beads with Lezlie Foster Honey Combs and Honey Beads with Lezlie Foster Carlisle Scool of Glass Art In this 2 day class students will learn all they need to know to make gorgeous honeycomb pieces as well as honeycomb beads that can be strung! You will learn the techniques to make each piece completely unique through demonstration, questions, answers, and hands on learning. On the first day of this class you will be creating the cells that make up the honeycombs using basic honey colors. You will then move on with learning how to create depth and interest in your pieces and how to get the perfect honey drip! On day 2 you will learn to put the pieces together on a mandrel to make honey comb beads as well as a super easy design for an encased honeycomb bead. Next you will take the pieces you have made to the flat lap and the wet belt sander. You will learn the cold working skills that are required to finish your pieces with each of these machines. These skills are not only needed for the honeycombs but can also be very useful in so much of your other work. Time permitting, you can begin to try new ideas with your honeycomb pieces. These can then be picked up at the school the next day or mailed to you to work on at home. Level is Intermediate to Advanced. Cost is $490 Lunch and some materials are included. 856-825-0627
